Could the Goron Minesweeper be a prequel?

The Get a Job rule of the Stone Age is “Defeat 300 enemies in the mines.”
The Goron Minesweeper is an early example of a Watch It to Beat It, a game that teaches a new game mechanic by beating that game. If you were attracted by all the “Gorings!” and “Tentacles!” on the package, it’s likely that you want to play a game of Goron Minesweeper.
But there is a link between the games. The basic gameplay is the same: move around the grid, giving your ball a stone if you see an enemy or hopping over one if it’s another ball. In other words, the physics are the same, and the games share the same tokens, and it seems like the structure is the same.
My question is: would it make sense for the Goron Minesweeper to be a prequel to the Stone Age game? I mean, it starts off using the same mechanics as the Stone Age, which is encouraging, but perhaps that’s not the best way to introduce Watch It to Beat It.

I really like your idea that Watch It to Beat It is a prequel to Stone Age, and I agree that even if the games share an archetype, they weren’t necessarily created simultaneously.

Note 1: All of the main track listings are the product of a long, arduous process where I worked on it over the span of 2 months. There was a time when I did not expect it to be nearly as long, and a time when I thought the game would be out by the time I was done. Luckily it all worked out in the end.

Note 2: I would have preferred to have all of these files in a single album, but the FLAC is way more expensive than the MP3. If you want to pay a bit extra to donate to the cause, I’ll definitely be grateful to get your contributions. In order to get the best sound quality from the music, I had to make all of the music myself.
