The president said it would also address safety concerns and sooth environmental concerns about the Keystone and Dakota Access pipelines.

“This rule would have not only delayed pipelines, but also hurt American workers and the new and growing energy industry, which has created more than one million new jobs in just the last two years,” Trump said. “We just have to do it right, and fast.”

The president had previously said that the pipelines will create 14,000 jobs.
