A big part of the problem seemed to be related to the way they were talking about this event. When they talked to their daughter about the problem they sounded like it was going to be this major disaster for her and she would have to spend a lot of time working around the fallout of this, which to them was a huge imposition on her life. They were talking about this very openly and the daughter was very disturbed by it, and felt the burden of this was on her shoulders.
